PROCEM is a computer program for nomenclature and classification of anatomic pathology reports. It was developed in February 2005, being derived from SNOP and Microglossary for Surgical Pathology, both from the College of American Pathologists, at present IHTSDO. It has four axes, Topography, Morphology, Etiology and Function, with an exact translation into Portuguese from the original SNOP codes. The program is user –friendly, allowing non medical personnel to type the data from the reports, at a rate of upwards 400 cases a day. The program searches by accession number, date, hospital, physician, patient’s name and surname, frozen section, topography and diagnoses. The file contains 1,187,377 exams. Source: Dr. Mattosinho
